The Furniture HelplineLottery Cash Keeps Doors OpenThe New Year sales in the furniture stores, mean that you might be lucky enough to replace your furniture even though the old items are still in good condition. Did you know that Furniture Helpline take items of furniture in good condition, and redistribute them to those in need in East Hampshire? |
|
Furniture Helpline was set up in 1994, and redistributes over 150 tonnes of furniture and white goods each year in East Hampshire providing benefit to at least 1,400 people over the course of the last year. From a local point of view, we distributed furniture and white-goods to 23 families living in Headley during the same period. We have a high success rate, with around 90% of furniture and 75% of white goods being redistributed. An electrician works on-site at the Furniture Helpline depot to check that all the electrical goods are in safe working order before they can be reallocated. The types of furniture that we collect and redistribute are varied – washing machines, beds, chests of drawers, tables – even curtains, crockery and cutlery are donated and re-used. |
