Meals on Wheels / Age Concern
The Meals on Wheels service has had a busy year. Hot meals
and also frozen ones have been delivered to approximately 25
people, a total of about 3,500 meals. Our aim is to continue to
supply this vital service to some of the frail and vulnerable
people who often do not see anyone else during the week.
Meals are delivered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
This is not possible without the support of all our willing
volunteers who go out, without fail, in all weathers. We were
lucky enough this year to recruit four more drivers which has
lightened the load for everyone. Obviously, we are always
grateful to recruit more volunteers because the more drivers
we have the easier it becomes for everyone.
We cover the whole of the Bordon area which includes all the
surrounding villages e.g. Headley, Lindford, Whitehill, Oakhanger,
Blackmoor and Kingsley. The meals are supplied
from Liphook Millennium Hall by Age Concern.
Grateful thanks go out to everyone who is involved in this important service. The Organiser, Heather Barrett, can be contacted on 01420 472862
