HEADLEY VOLUNTARY CARE

I am happy to report that we have had a very successful year; it has been a year of expansion and consolidation in terms of an increase in numbers of both coordinators and drivers thanks to the efforts of Lee Yates and his team. Interestingly, however, the number of miles 16,803 was down compared to last years figures of 18,056.
Thanks to our publicity officer Peter Marsh, the profile of
H.V.C. remains high and many of you will have seen the new
Posters around the village advertising our services, and our
web site is up and running. In September we were presented
with a cheque for £1,000 from the Headley Bowls Club by
their President Don Stephens.
This donation and the fact that travel tokens have been
scrapped and unused tokens have been donated to us have
helped our finances remain satisfactory with thanks to the
efforts of Keith Henderson.
Our Thursday Coffee mornings continue to be well attended –
my thanks to Barbara Symonds and her willing helpers for
their efforts.
At last years AGM Doctors David Lee and Anthony Leung gave us a most informative talk on the recently established Patient Participation Group incorporating the Badgerswood and Forest Surgeries. The friends consist of Doctors and Patients' representatives, to open a forum for discussion and feedback and also raise funds for the Practice. Carl Tantum from the Bordon and Liphook Charity talked to us at the Spring Meeting giving an interesting account of their amazing fund-raising efforts.
The Garden Party on July 14th was held at Sandown House
and once again we were blessed with good weather, it having
rained the day before and the day after! Approximately 100
people attended and we raised £600 for the Charity. Our
thanks to the organising committee for providing the victuals
and drink and to Paul Heath for his very tasty Hot Dogs.
The Autumn Helpers Party on October 13th was attended by
70 people. It proved to be, as usual, a very convivial occasion
with the opportunity for us all to meet as a group to chat and
enjoy ourselves. My thanks to the Committee for organising
the event.
Finally my thanks to Lynne Milner, our indefatigable Secretary and to our visitors for their contribution to Voluntary Care and lastly, but by no means least, my thanks to all you helpers coordinators and drivers for your continuing support of Headley Voluntary Care during the past year.
