HEADLEY WIVES' GROUP
http://www.headley-village.com/wives
Last year our membership was higher than at any time since
the group was set up, and we hope to welcome even more
new members during 2007.
We enjoyed a good variety of speakers in 2006, starting the
year with a talk on alternative health, before moving on to
trekking in Peru, learning about Punch and Judy and also
finding out how to make your own cards for Christmas. We
had a member of Citizens’ Advice come to give us a talk
about CA’s work and an exciting evening hearing about
riding with cowboys in Montana. In April, we welcomed a
panel of experts from the local Horticultural Society, who
gave us handy tips and guidance – just in time to get our
gardens ready for those summer blooms.
The guest speaker at our Lent Supper was from the Phyllis
Tuckwell Hospice, while at our Christmas meeting the Reverend
Philip Morgan entertained us with stories from his long
and interesting career.
For many of our members, the highlight of the year was a visit
in July to Highgrove, home of the Prince of Wales.
We meet on the first Tuesday of each month, at 8.00pm in the
Church Centre, and are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Age is no barrier and although we may not all be young
wives, we are certainly not old wives, even though we do
have many a good tale to tell!
