Footpath No.39 – Whitmore Vale Road to the Surrey county boundary
Updated August 2020
Note: There is a stile and steps on this path
A finger post on Whitmore Vale Road points to a stile which leads into a private garden. The garden belongs to a property once owned by John Noakes of BBC Blue Peter fame.
The path weaves its way through the garden, down some steps and under a bamboo ‘tunnel’ ...
... to cross the Barford stream on a bridge made of railway sleepers. This is the county boundary with Surrey where Headley FP39 ends and Surrey FP1 begins.
The path carries on through a gate ...
... and up some steps ...
... to meet a bridleway (Surrey BW32). There is a guide post to our path (photo shows reverse direction). Turning left down BW32 takes you to Barford and is often used as part of a circular walk.
