BOAT No.37 – “Watery Lane”: Picketts Hill to Huntingford Bridge
Updated Sept 2020
The track is signposted off Picketts Hill Road opposite the old lime kiln.
It passes straight across another track leading to a camping field ...
... and becomes a sunken lane alternating in nature between a clear track ...
... and a somewhat overgrown one where the light can get through the trees.
Further down it can be muddy, particularly after it has been used by offroad wheeled traffic, and it then lives up to its old name of ‘Watery Lane’.
Towards the end it comes out into the open beside a field and can become overgrown.
It exits into Smithy Lane at the same point as FP9 (photo in reverse direction). Note: FP9 is an alternative which some walkers may prefer, particularly when BOAT 37 is muddy.
